Class Description
This unique swim class for parents and tots (5-18 months) is a great combination of fitness and fun for everyone. Each 60 minute class includes a 30 minute aquafit workout for parents, followed by a 30 minute activity/swim component for the tots. Most importantly, our pools are warm for the children, and one location is a salt-water pool.

During the first half of our class, parents enjoy a challenging aquafit workout while their children sit along in a flotation seats , allowing them to kick their legs, splash with their hands and remain in contact with their parents at all times.

During the second half of our class, children will enjoy active sing-songs with a variety of toys (puppets, balls, water cups, hula-hoops, splash pads, slide, etc.), and also learn basic swimming skills such as ear-dipping, face-wetting, flutterkicking, the back float, and progessive stages towards submersion.

Important Announcement to all Diaper-fit Parents
As of Monday August 31st, it is mandatory that all infants who are enrolled in diaper-fit classes wear a cloth diaper-suit. Disposable pull-up suits such as Little Swimmers are no longer accepted unless plastic pants are worn over top and are fitted snugly around both thighs.

Cloth diaper-suits contain "accidents" in the pool very well, are very economical ($10-20), and some such as "Kushies" are adjustable (will fit your child's waistband and thigh width as he/she grows).

When fitting your infant with a suit, it is imperative that it fits snugly around the upper thigh area (to prevent leakage). Please note that your child will not be permitted in the class if his/her suit is improperly fitted.

Re-usuable suits such as Kushies, Gaby's, Bumies can be found at Toys R Us, Once Upon A Child, Little Nibblets, and other baby stores. The H2O-FIT office also has a supply of suits for $15.00 (including g.s.t.).

Eligility for Children's Fitness Tax Credit

Please note that our Diaper-fit program is not eligible for the Children's Fitness Tax Credit (effective January 1, 2007).
An eligible program requires 30 minutes of sustained moderate to vigorous physical activity for children under the age of ten (or 60 minutes for children over ten), plus one or more of muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and balance.
